10-Year Anniversary Celebration Summer Party in the ‘Amsterdamse Bos’ forest till the early hours of the morning
On Monday, 21 June, the longest day of the year, Designer Hans Ubbink celebrated the 10-year anniversary of his label. The party took place at a unique location in the Amsterdamse Bos theatre, which was transformed into a real-life fairytale especially for this occasion. At twilight Hans Ubbink presented his SS11 collection followed by a huge soiree, both carrying the theme of midsummer night.

Hans Ubbink transformed the ‘Amsterdamse Bos’ forest into a real-life fairytale especially for the 10-year anniversary of his label and the SS11 collection. Imagine floating, illuminated balloons, models drifting onsmall boats in the water, mysterious projected images, music by the metropole orchestra ...the eye-catching catwalk where the models in the Hans Ubbink collection and Blue collection walked straightthrough the audience creating a sensational effect. The show was alternated with performances byMathilde Santing as The Siren. Shows by Mala Vita and Kraak & Smaak raised the roof with the party continuing into the early hours of the morning. For his most recent summer collection Hans Ubbink was inspired by the ultimate summer feeling: the midsummer night – long days and short, sultry nights, a 19th century picknick ambience, and of course with strong rock & roll influences – his all time favorite.
The romantic fairy tale collection is loving and sensual alternated with rough edges and structures that shape the collection. These contrasts are also seen in the fabrics and colours: beige, moon white and summer grey voiles and satins combined with crepe-wools in the colours of the night, the moon and the woods. Stand out pieces in the collection are the sleeveless jackets, thin, knitted dresses and jumpers in combination with refined tops, worn either over or under the jumpers. As usual prints also play an important role.
