WOMEN'S COLLECTION SPRING SUMMER 2010
BD Baggies continues its new project "fine American basic" under the creative direction of the American designer, David Mullen. After its initial success in Europe, SS10 was launched in the U.S. and Japan, getting an excellent reception in the top department stores and independent stores in the country (including Barneys Co-op, Bloomingdales, Saks, Fred Segal, Mario's, Steven Alan, Beams and United Arrow).
The collection continues its project of taking a new look at both style and fitting in the women’s line too.
As in the men's collection, BD Baggies will also be recognizable in the women’s collection thanks to its unique light weight, the special attention and richness of the fabrics that are ever lighter and more refined in cotton, madras linen and poplin and voile fabrics, very lightly garment-dyed in 10 colours.
The traditional romantic-style dress, with pleats around the buttons and a little belt at the waist, turned out to be the "must have" of last season, and is now offered in a new range of patterns and fabrics.
Several new styles have been added to the collection.
Among these are shirts of various lengths in garment-dyed linen, with three-quarter sleeves, tuxedo shirts for any occasion of the day and all available in many fun colour ranges, the Nantucket shirt, an oversized dress whose generous cut is inspired by a man's shirt, and the Hampton shirt, a shirting tank top in various materials and colours that is perhaps the most “summery” part of the collection.
The new line of garment-dyed jersey and cotton-fleece in 16 different colours is an absolutely new departure. BD Baggies confirms itself as an "easy to wear" label through the wearability and lightness of its fabrics.
